A great place to find visitor or relocation information for the Central Oregon area is the Visitors Center. There are actually two locations, one in the Old Mill shopping district near Coldwater Creek, the other in the downtown area near the Blacksmith restaurant. The local chambers of commerce for Bend, Redmond, Madras, etc. can also be accessed via the net.
I recommend, whether you are staying for the weekend or making your home here in Bend, that you ask if the hotel, apartment, whatever, is near the railroad tracks. Other than that, most places are decent as we really don%26#39;t have high crime areas or run down neighborhoods.
