Just got an email the other day from the Hallmark Resort--they have a mid-week special NW Ocean View rooms - $99. --$119 on weekends. It is a very nice place--right on the beach, close to downtown.

That%26#39;s a great price for the Hallmark Resort. If you want a place a bit more quiet, check out the Ecola Creek Lodge. It is on a quiet end of town and I have always thought this property looked so charming and quaint. When are you visiting Cannon Beach and will it be on the weekend or during the week when the rates are cheaper at most place? :)

Is this for your April trip? If so, and if you can do midweek, the Surfsand Resort (fantastic place!!!) has rooms starting at $109 per night for Sunday through Thursday nights until May 24th. Right on the beach, views of Haystack Rock and an easy walk to all the shops and such in downtown. We have stayed here many times and love it.

the road to Cannon Beach at night?

I just remember it being kind of curvy.

Wasn%26#39;t sure about deer and wildlife either.

Highway 26 to Cannon Beach is a little windy, but not too difficult at night. I can%26#39;t think of any spots where you%26#39;d really be in danger of tumbling down the mountainside. And wildlife? I%26#39;ve seen some in the bar at Oney%26#39;s, but never very much on the road. ;-)

We drove home from the Coast not long ago as it was getting dark.

We had no fears of going over any edges and believe me, we have those fears !

If you don%26#39;t drive too fast you should be fine..there is not usually much traffic until you get to the towns and flatter country..(or so it has seemed when we take these drives)

HWY 26 is an easy drive, so don%26#39;t worry. I have a hard time seeing at night, and am fine on this road.
