Looking for an ';Indian'; Restaurant...

...and while we are at it, a place featuring ';Turkish'; food would be welcomed. I see quite a few Indian places advertized but was hoping to get a first hand account. I am too lazy to read all 205 pages of the thread on Portland Eats....

I%26#39;ve enjoyed Vindaloo recently. Plainfield%26#39;s Mayur is always reputed to be very good, as is Curry Leaf in Beaverton, though I haven%26#39;t tried either.

Thank you!

The only place I know of that calls itself specifically Turkish is the Sultan Cafe, which I%26#39;ve not been to, but is located at (I think) 18th %26amp; Quimby. It%26#39;s actually a Hookah Bar, not really a restaurant.

For more generally Meditteranean, so I could suggest Karam Lebanese Restaurant - we%26#39;ve had excellent food there, and live music too.

There is also Alexis Greek Restaurant.

Thank you. I think I would love them both, however our exchange student is Turkish and she does not like to ';cross the line';.

Ah! Yes, we%26#39;ve had Turkish friends, and true, Greek especially would be totally out of the question!

Of course all that food that is at Greek restaurants is actually Turkish and the Greeks just copied them, like Gyros and Stuffed Grape Leaves - ask your exchange student, I%26#39;m sure they%26#39;ll tell you, LOL.

The place our friends always went was Anoush Deli.
