Valentines Romance Packages

I got a note today from the Kimpton Hotels..announcing the Romance Packages for Valentines. Champagne, chocolates and rose petals on the bed ( my husband was not too thrilled about that idea)..continental breakfast, and late check out, free valet parking.

All Kimptons are doing it, since we live in Portland, I looked at the 5th Avenue Suites ..

Happy Valentines Day !

Or, if you%26#39;d rather get away from it all, Black Butte Ranch is doing something similar, but without the rose petals. One night%26#39;s lodging in condo with a fireplace, dinner at the Lodge, Champagne, Moonstruck chocolates, and a couple head-scratching throw-ins: coffee from Sisters Coffee Company and tickets for the Sisters Movie House.

Thanks for the heads up, Scarlett. Guess it%26#39;s time to start thinking about this.

Valentines Romance Packages

I%26#39;d recommend the Kimpton package with the Hot Tub suite at the Vintage Plaza hotel. We did this once, it was really great.

Private hot tub on the balcony overlooking the city. Very cool.

J%26amp;S, is that the room %26#39;at the top'; ? it looks so nice from their website.

Personally, I am not that excited about climbing into a bed littered with rose petals lol cold, sticking to skin etc :)

But...the breakfast and late check out are tempting.

We will be staying at the 5th Ave anyway in a couple of months, pre-flight out of the country- perfect day or more to recover from stage one of the move and prepare for those flights :)

So, what is the perfect Travel Valentines gift?

I%26#39;m not sure what ';the room at the top'; is, but I think they call it their ';Balcony Spa Guestrooms'; - there are only three in the hotel. The room itself is quite nice, but not as nice as the King Suites at 5th Avenue I think. However, drinking the champagne (or wine) in the 4-person hot-tub while the city lights go on below you is an experience unequalled anywhere in Portland (that I%26#39;ve found).

With you about the rose petals, but it makes for a very romantic ambience when you arrive - just sweep them onto the floor if you want.

LOL I picture waking up in the am and both of us have little rose petals stuck all over our bodies and faces :)

The room with the ';Starlight';...windows :)

It looks pretty romantic too ..as does the Lucia next door with in room spa services...

Not a problem if you keep your jammies on.
