Are you looking to take tidepool pictures? If not, what characteristics are you looking for in a beach?

... and if looking for shorebirds, I%26#39;d check with OR Audubon.
Ahhhhhhhh Capitola! How is the lovely 41st. Ave.? Last time we were there for a wedding my wife went to her old hairdresser out on the cliffs and it took us 30 minutes to get there from the hwy. We were so glad not to be living there anymore. We don%26#39;t do well with traffic like that anymore.
Anyway, if it%26#39;s tidepools you are looking for the only ones I know of for sure are at Cape Arago SP near Coos Bay. Don%26#39;t know how far you are planning on coming up the coast. Some call this the south coast and other call it the central coast. I know there is more up North of Florence but Florence is pretty much in the center of the coast.
i am looking for driftwood, tide pools and other interesting
items that can only be seen at low tides--
Suggest you get some tide tables. I have them for Newport. Lowest tides there are late afternoon early evening Feb 14-19. Most of rest of low tides are not minus numbers. Then maybe you already have that planned.
I don%26#39;t know S coast that well, but wife and caught some morning low tides at Crescent City and Bandon fall of 2006. Got some good photos of lighthouse at Bandon in low tide with some morning fog.
