Sunday brunch

We just stayed 6 days in Portland,i love it and want to move there..But thats another post.On are last day we wanted to have a really good brunch, but for the life of me couldnt find any info on line about brunch? So we ended up eating brunch at are hotel(Benson)The place is called London grill...The place was ok but not GREAT,and for $32 each it should have been(food was really good service so so)...But what i would like to know,is where are the great places to have brunch for my next trip(that i just booked in 3 weeks,i love Portland)?

Sunday brunch

Oh bummer, if I had only known...I have only heard of one person who ate lunch, I think, at the London Grill and liked it.

OK, Everett Street Bistro does a great lunch..

Bluehour ( these places all do great Happy Hours too, summer you can always find us sitting outside somewhere with the Pup having something :)

My mind is so on Buenos Aires right now that I cannot think of brunch here, but look at the Eating Out in Portland thread :)

Sunday brunch

Mothers Bistro on SW 2nd %26amp; Stark !! lol

Salty%26#39;s is the only other decent restaurant in town where I know they serve a buffet-style weekend brunch. (That%26#39;s what you%26#39;re looking for, right?) If there%26#39;s one at the Heathman, look for syrahgirl to post. Regardless, London Grill%26#39;s is probably the best of that type in town. Most restaurants that say they serve Sunday brunch simply mean that they have both breakfast and lunch items on the menu.

Sammy%26#39;s!! on NW 23rd, lol, it is all coming back to me .. They are up near Burnside on 23rd. great Bloody Marys and eggs and hash browns, that sort of thing. Close to diner food ( NY diner food) but we like it.

Also the Red Star Tavern %26amp; Grill at the 5th Avenue Suites does breakfast/brunches that are wonderful. Big plates of French toast and all sorts of goodies. . I am always overwhelmed with the choices and end up with something like scrambled eggs :)

But the food there is very good as is the atmosphere and service.

Fenouil has a great brunch. e eggs benedict rock! Plus you can have a light lunch menu if you prefer.

The Cameo Cafe across from Twist, just off NW 23rd serves pancakes by the acre!!! They literally hang off the edge of the plates....don%26#39;t know if they still serve breakfast all day, but they used to.

Oh yes, and then you can buy a trinket in Twist :D

We had a very nice lunch at Fenouil this past summer, we loved the dining room there, very elegant with pretty views of the park and fountains. I had the butter lettuce salad and a salmon entree that was very nicely prepared. The desserts are served in small portions at great prices, we enjoyed the profiteroles.

We also enjoyed Sunday Brunch at the Heathman, it was not buffet, tho. The crab cakes were perfectly prepared with poached eggs, whole wheat toast and fresh fruit and OJ. You may want to see if Wildwood or Park Kitchen do brunch, we have enjoyed several great meals at Wildwood and one very yummy dinner at Park Kitchen. Enjoy and have a great trip! :)

Mother%26#39;s, Everett St. Bistro and Red Star Tavern are all very good.

If you decide to venture out of town a bit, I can recommend a place near our wine country for an excellent brunch. Located in Sherwood, Hunter%26#39;s Ridge Grill is very good! Even if you don%26#39;t make it for brunch, try to make it for dinner there.

Yes, mamababoo! Fenouil is wonderful for brunch!

When the weather was warm, we had lunch there often. It is a great restaurant and not just for ';special'; nights out.

I think Mothers is a good brunch, and having had brunch at Everett St Bistro, I can attest to the goodness of the French Toast and Crab Cakes ( not together!! lol)
