We had two RCI weeks deposited, use or lose by oct 31. Happy to report today we were able to use in Oct. One week on Maui Kaanapali, one week Kauai Poipu
Been 2 years, time to go back.
We also got airline tickets on Hawaiian Air to Maui and from Kauai, but still need to get from Maui to Kauai. I know several here are also Hawaiian visitors. Has anyone used the new airline? I not we got assigned seats from Lihue to Honolulu, glad for that. did not like waiting in line hoping we got a seat.
I plan to post to Kauai board, but trust this group for good advice.
Hawaii
Sorry phril- new airline-what is it%26#39;s name? Is it Island Air? My sis and I went to Hawaii last October and booked from Maui to Hilo on Island Air-through the Hawaiian Airlnes page.
If this is the right airline let me know and I will write more.
My sis used to work at Haleakela NP on Maui about 3 years so this was her 1st time back-it was too long of a wait to go back. :)
Hawaii
I think you%26#39;re talking about Go Air. I looked at them to get interisland flights for last July and they were pretty limited in their flights and they seemed to fill their $39 seats much faster than Hawaiian. We stuck with Hawaiian. I believe all three interisland carriers (Hawaiian, Island, Go) all connect through Honolulu and so the $39 fares would be double since you%26#39;ll be on 2 flights.
Too bad you can%26#39;t be in Kaanapali for Halloween. Lahaina shuts down Front St. and they have a huge deal that has been called the Mardi Gras of the Pacific. The wife and I may try to make it this year if things work out. Sounds like a blast.
now i remember, we did take Island Air as a direct flight to kahului to hilo. We decided that it would be worth the extra 30~40 dollars to get a direct flight, instead of waiting around in the airport for 1/3 of a day (as dreaminofmaui states %26#39;go%26#39; advertises low rates, but when you really calculate it out to what island you want to go, its not as cheap as one might think) plus i don%26#39;t like flying so the less time in the air, the better. quite an experince flying on a 32 seater prop plane.
As for the lahinia halloween party, we happen to stumble upon it unexpectedly. I had no idea it exisited until the flight from portland to maui, and the person i was sitting next to on the plane thought i was crazy that i had never heard of it. We went to the keiki parade, then left before it got too rowdy. it was fun though, elaborate costumes. Ahhhh place where you don%26#39;t have to wear a huge coat over your costume:)
Hey phirl! Got room in your bag for a 6%26#39;2';, 235# shirt?!!!! I%26#39;t%26#39;s been 14 months for me, and that%26#39;s WAAAAAAAAY too long!!

We flew Aloha Air on their island hopper flights between Maui and Kauai, then to the Big Island, then Oahu. Worked great - no problems. No experience yet with the new guys, though.
Really jealous - love Maui, love Kauai more. Glad it worked out for you!
